EMC (Electro-Magnetic Compatibility) Cable Glands are used to ground shielded cables or wires as they pass through metal panels or through the metal walls of machinery parts to reduce the possibility of electromagnetic interference.
ITC offers from stock in Canada, brass nickel-plated EMC glands for shielded, non-armoured cable in - Pg, NPT or Metric threads – which combine effective electromagnetic shielding, easy installation and very convenient prices.
Each gland has an internal, special copper alloy spring ‘crown’, which guarantees a low-impedance electrical contact between the gland body and the outside braid of the shielded cable; an NBR O-ring and an insert in neoprene / nylon provide IP68 ingress protection at 5 Bar (30 min.).
This quality connection is quickly obtained by simply stripping a length of the external insulating jacket prior to installation: a perfect shielding is achieved by just tightening the gland. Use of the special EMC locknuts (designed to “bite” into the panel finish) is also recommended.
