ITC introduces a new line of flexible silicone heating elements.
Flexible heaters can bend and contour to various specific application requirements. They can be attached to flat or curved surfaces, to allow for better and more effective heat transfer. This makes them ideal for equipment where standard operating conditions would prevent usage of conventional heating methods. Flexible heating elements encapsulated in silicone provide protection against moisture, chemicals, and are often more robust than other heating solutions.
Silicone offers high electrical insulating properties and is also tolerant of a wide range of temperature extremes. They are manufactured by etching a metal conductor on a flexible support, then encapsulating the same among two layers of silicone. Power is supplied via permanently connected leads.
These thin light-weight heaters with high watt density can be attached with fasteners or adhesive on a surface to be heated. Standard models come without adhesive, but can be customized with adhesive. Thermostats are recommended, and custom sizes can be ordered.
